Andy Carroll dons PINK Chelsea boots as West Ham stars arrive for premiere of new film Iron Men
West Ham’s stars turned out in force on Thursday night for the premiere of new film Iron Men.
The feature-length documentary about the Hammers’ last season at Upton Park was shown at Mile End’s Genesis Cinema, with star man Andy Carroll donning spectacular pink Chelsea boots for the occasion.
Manager Slaven Bilic was also pictured arriving, as was club captain Mark Noble and co-chairman David Gold.
West Ham finished seventh in the Premier League last season and were vying for a top-four spot right up until the final few weeks of the campaign.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, skipper Noble recalled: “It’s amazing because, in football, you forget. You forget how good last year was.”
Noble added: “It’s amazing that was all documented and people can watch it again. The film is very good — for real West Ham people it is pretty emotional.”
West Ham’s last game at the famous old ground was a dramatic 3-2 win over Manchester United – a moment which features heavily in the film.
The Irons came from 2-1 down as goals from Michail Antonio and Winston Reid in the last 15 minutes sealed a dramatic turnaround.
Manager Bilic said: “The film will always be a great film, but that last game made it a special one. How did they know that we’re going to have that game?! The perfect ending! It couldn’t have been better.”
