Rasmussen Poll Reports Drastic Weekend Drop In Trump Ratings

The most recent daily tracking survey from Rasmussen put the president’s approval rating at 48 percent, down two percent from the 50 percent it was on Friday. In the new poll, the disapproval rating for president Trump went up to 51 percent, previously 50 percent. 1,500 likely voters are surveyed by Rasmussen over a span of three days, with a margin of error of only plus or minus 2.5 percentage points. Trump generally loves to promote Rasmussen, having tweeted out a poll from them on Friday. Perhaps this is one poll that he isn’t going to share.

Rasmussen has found much better results for Donald in the past, as they are generally considered to lean more to the right. For example, the latest survey from Gallup on Sunday found the president to have an approval rating that was nearly ten points lower than where Rasmussen had found it to be on Monday. Gallup put Trump’s approval rating at 39 percent with a disapproval rating of 55 percent.

Believe it or not, that is actually an improvement from where Trump stood in the previous Gallup poll in the week, at which point he had gone down to a 36 percent approval. That is only one percentage point better than his lowest ever seen in March.

Trump’s approval rating has seen a steady decline after a challenging few months for the president, including the ongoing investigations into the White House’s potential ties to Russia. The intelligence community determined that Russia interfered in the 2016 election in order to get Donald Trump elected over the Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

It is especially concerning for the White House that recent surveys are showing that some of the Americans who helped to get Trump where he is today seem to be drifting away from the president. In a mere month, the number of Republicans who believed that America was on the right track fell a whopping 17 percentage points according the a Gallup survey that came out last week.

A survey done by Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research last week found that President Trump’s disapproval rating among GOP voters had risen to about 25 percent. In the same poll, they found that only 50 percent of white people with no college degree are in approval of the job that Trump is doing as the president of the United States. Meanwhile, the number of white Americans without a college degree that voted for Trump back in November was 66 percent.

Clearly, the president was wrong when he thought he had something to brag about on Twitter.
