Matt Bomer NOT Taking Break From Hollywood, Despite Report
Matt Bomer is not taking a break from Hollywood following the cancelation of his TV show “The Last Tycoon,” despite a completely inaccurate report. The article claims the actor is taking time off from work to become a full-time family man, but Gossip Cop looked into the situation and we’ve exclusively learned the truth.
“Career Slump? Matt Bomer Shifts His Focus To Family After TV Show Failure,” reads a new headline posted on Star’s website. Amazon recently axed the actor’s TV show after just one season, and now the unreliable magazine says he’s so dismayed by the cancelation that he’s turning his back on show business. A supposed “insider” tells the magazine, “He’s going to step back, lick his wounds and work on parenting for a while.”
“He and his family are now saying that he rushed into ‘The Last Tycoon’ too soon and thought it would be his ‘Mad Men,’ which it decidedly wasn’t,” adds the questionable source. “Basically, he’s going to force himself to spend more time being a dad, in the hopes that better scripts might come along in the future.” Gossip Cop, however, can clear up the situation.
A rep for Bomer exclusively assures us the actor isn’t leaving Hollywood in the wake of his TV series getting canceled. In fact, we’re told he’s currently directing an episode for the second season of FX’s “American Crime Story,” titled “The Assassination of Gianni Versace.” Naturally, show business has its ups and downs, but the assertion that Bomer is abandoning Hollywood because his TV show got scrapped just isn’t true.
Unfortunately, we’re not too surprised by the magazine’s untrustworthy reporting. Gossip Cop previously called out Star’s sister publication, the National Enquirer, for making up a story about Bomer and his husband getting caught joining the mile-high club during a flight. That article was entirely fabricated, and the same goes for this latest one.
