Dani Alves denies wiping his nose on Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo
Paris-Saint Germain defender Dani Alves has denied wiping his nose on the shirt of Cristiano Ronaldo as his side bowed out of the Champions League last-16.
Alves spent eight years at Real Madrid’s fierce rivals Barcelona, making 391 appearances and scoring 21 goals.
Madrid ran out 2-1 winners on Tuesday night at Parc des Princes, winning 5-2 on aggregate and sealing a place in the quarter-finals.
During the game Alves was spotted rubbing his nose and Ronaldo’s sleeve within seconds of each other, which led to claims the Brazilian had deliberately dirtied the shirt of his opponent.
PSG's 51 game unbeaten run at home in all competitions comes to an end. Before tonight they had won their last 19 games at the Parc des Princes.

But the 34-year-old quickly moved to deny those suggestions on his personal Twitter account.
“It is not painful to be eliminated in my profession most of the time, that is part of our daily life, but to have to see and hear nonsense like that [accusation]…” Alves wrote in response.
“But hey, I will continue to compete as I did until today and leave the silly things for the fools.”
PSG had been one of the early-season favourites to win the Champions League this season following their summer transfer window which saw the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
PSG free-scoring their way to Ligue 1
Despite PSG’s Champions League exit, Alves looks set to win the eighth league title of his career this season. The French champions are currently 14 points clear at the top of Ligue 1.
Playing 28 games so far, no other side in Europe’s top five leagues have scored more goals than PSG’s 86 this season.
Edinson Cavani leads the way for goals this season, scoring 24 in Ligue 1, and is the joint top scorer in Europe’s top five leagues alongside Lionel Messi, Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah.
