Catholic Priest Sentenced To Jail For Abusing Boys, Forcing 1 To Say Confession
BROOKVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania Roman Catholic priest who pleaded responsible to sexually abusing two boys and making considered one of them say confession after the assaults has been sentenced to 2 and a half to 14 years in jail.
David Lee Poulson was sentenced in Jefferson County on Friday after pleading responsible in October to corruption of minors and baby endangerment.
Poulson is considered one of two monks charged because of a damning Pennsylvania grand jury report that named nearly 300 predator monks accused of abusing greater than 1,000 victims over seven many years in six of the state’s dioceses.
Prosecutors say 65-year-old Poulson abused an altar boy in church rectories greater than 20 instances and had him confess afterward.
Officers say Poulson was instantly taken into custody after sentencing.
