Police: Man charged in killing of Charlotte girl
Police charged a person with first-degree homicide after a 71-year-old girl was killed in her north Charlotte house and her husband hospitalized.
Police discovered Santa Rodena Acevedo and her husband shot of their house within the 1900 block of Newland Street on Wednesday evening. Acevedo was pronounced lifeless within the house, police stated in a information launch, whereas a person within the house was taken to Carolinas Medical Middle. On Friday, police issued warrants for the arrest of 50-year-old Tomka Antonio McDowell, based on a CMPD launch.
