William Sadler Defends the ‘VFW’ with a Circular Saw; Stephen Lang Leads the “Good Guys” Into Battle! [Exclusive]

It’s the year of the Begos.

With indie filmmaker Joe Begos set to release his destined-to-be-a-cult classic Bliss this coming September, he’s also prepping to blast audiences away with his action-horror VFW, described as The Wild Bunch meets Night of the Living Dead.

The story follows Fred (played by Don’t Breathe‘s Stephen Lang) and his military buddies as they must defend their local VFW post – and an innocent teen – against a deranged drug dealer and his relentless army of punk mutants. These Vietnam vets have been to hell and back, but this will be the longest night of their lives.

While we don’t get to see any punk mutants…yet…Bloody Disgusting does have an exclusive look at three wild photos from VFW, one of Bogus Journey and Demon Knight‘s William Sadler rocking a circular saw straight out of the old school “Evil Dead” video game!

There’s also a shot of “the good guys” – Lang, Sadler, Fred Williamson, Sierra McCormick, and Tom Williamson – along with a great photo of Karate Kid‘s Martin Kove in a heap of trouble (and a marquee with some fun easter eggs).

David Patrick Kelly, George Wendt, Dora Madison, and Travis Hammer also star.

Filmed on location in Dallas, TX, VFW is Produced by Dallas Sonnier and Amanda Presmyk of FANGORIA, alongside longtime Begos-collaborator Josh Ethier.

It was written by Max Brallier & Matthew McArdle.
