Hillsong’s Chelsea Taylor Is in the ICU Following a Brain Aneurysm

In a post on Instagram, Hillsong Worship has asked followers to pray for worship leader Chelsea Taylor, who suffered a brain aneurysm shortly after leading worship on Sunday.

Fellow worship leader Brooke Ligertwood explained, “Please pray for Chelsea, one of our beloved Sydney team. This is her leading worship at church on Sunday—she was rushed to hospital shortly afterwards, has since come through a major surgery and needs our prayer. This girl is very dear to our hearts.” Bethel Music’s Jenn Johnson also asked followers to pray.

In a post, Hillsong United’s Matty Crocker, who was with Taylor that morning, said, “We were leading worship together yesterday morning and then we both walked off separate sides of the stage. Halfway through the message I got a text saying you wouldn’t be up there with us when we go back up. I thought u had fainted and that was it. I only found out in the last few hours how serious it was.”

Yesterday, Hillsong’s Cass Langton posted an encouraging update from Chelsea’s mom following a nine-hour surgery.

Honestly this is a miracle!” she said. “The comment was said to me, the doctors aren’t saying anything! Praise our faithful God… She walked into church Sunday morning in her white sneakers! I am taking them into her room today as A declaration of Faith that she is going to walk out of this hospital 100 percent healed in Jesus mighty name. I just told her the whole church is praying and fasting all over the world and she smiled and said thanks mum.”

She explained that Chelsea will be in the ICU for at least three weeks, but is still seeking prayers as she recovers. Her mother wrote, “She told me she thought she thought she had died and as I spoke the Word over her she smiled and nodded! THIS IS A MIRACLE. Our God is wonderful.”
