Timothée Chalamet’s bowl cut isn’t the only enviable hairstyle from the upcoming movie

At the end of last month, we got the first look at the new David Michôd-directed Netflix film The King – featuring Timothée Chalamet with a London fuckboy bowl cut (read more from an expert of how you can achieve it yourself here).

Today, the official trailer for the film has dropped – featuring the likes of Robert Pattinson and Lily-Rose Depp, who, like Chalamet, are also sporting interesting hairstyles. Read more about the synopsis for the film here, and continue below for the definitive listing of all the wild hairstyles spotted (far more important, IMO).

ROBERT PATTINSON

Looking like the lovechild of Kurt Cobain and Shrek’s Lord Farquaad, Robert Pattinson (who plays The Dauphin of France, son of King Charles VI) takes home the title of the most lustrous locks. Just about shoulder-length and somehow always perfectly wavy, we’re desperate to know what kind of 14th-century conditioner he uses. Anyone?

TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET

Usurped by R Patz, Chalamet’s bowl-cut comes in at number two. Sure, we’re excited by the Dalston fuckboy look, but after quickly realising he’s probably never going to love you, and instead, texts “u up” at 4am sporadically every couple of months, we’re probably going to give it a miss.

LILY-ROSE DEPP

Lily-Rose Depp stars as Catherine of Valois, the King’s wife. Despite not seeing her in the trailer without a modest medieval head covering – called a wimple, FYI – Depp discreetly shows off her hair, pairing her demure outfit with a fresh-faced glow.

BEN MENDELSOHN

As the late King Henry IV, who dies to pass on the title to his son Chalamet, Ben Mendelsohn will likely not appear in the film much. He makes a brief cameo in the trailer, glowering on a throne while still King with shoulder-length hair and a fetching ermine cape. The kind of hair you’d imagine the drummer of an indie rock band to sport.

TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET (AGAIN)

Perhaps in a flashback, Chalamet appears in the aforementioned wimple, strands of hair wildly hanging out and a manic look in his eyes. Bring back the bowl cut.

JOEL EDGERTON

With his Friar Tuck-esque cropped baby fringe obscured by chainmail, it’s Joel Edgerton’s beard that appears most frequently in the trailer. Like most beards, it looks like the kind that has more germs than dog fur. However, as the always-drunk Falstaff (friend and advisor to King Henry V), the beard is very on-brand. A+ for realism.

BEHEADED MAN

At the beginning of the trailer, we see an unknown man’s execution being ordered by a young Chalamet. At the other end of the spectrum to the wavy curls worn by his peers, this man appears with pre-buzzcut, buzzcut. Perhaps he’s being executed for not getting the fuckboy ’do memo.
