A 27-foot-tall statue of a nude man reaching toward the sky is being moved to an Allston playground, according to the City of Boston.
The statue, called “Quest Eternal,” originally sat on the Boylston Street side of the Prudential Center but was moved in 2014.
“Anyone who remembers the original Prudential Center remembers the giant statue oftentimes referred to as the ‘Naked Guy,’” a release read. “You couldn’t miss it.”
The bronze and granite sculpture, created by Donald De Lue in 1967, depicts a muscular, naked man with one arm outstretched toward the heavens.
Following a city council vote last week, the statue will be moved to Smith Playground in Allston as a part of the park’s redesign.
The playground sits at 235 Western Ave., close to Harvard stadium.
