The Axe Swung By Jack Nicholson in 'The Shining' Just Sold at Auction for Over $200,000

Several iconic horror movie props went up for auction early this week as part of the Prop Store’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction at the BFI IMAX Waterloo in London, including Freddy’s glove from Freddy vs Jason, Ghostface’s knife from Scream 2, the Necronomicon from Army of Darkness and Carrie White’s bloody prom dress from Carrie (2013).

As reported by Independent, the axe sold for £170,000 ($209,068.55) at the auction!

The site notes, “The prop is approximately three feet in length, with a wooden handle and foot-long blade that is an inch thick. Asides from a few scratches from long days of shooting the infamous door-breaking scene, the axe is reportedly in excellent condition.”

Freddy’s glove from Freddy vs. Jason sold for $37,818.50, while Jason’s machete from the same film went for $9,832.81. Jason’s axe from the Friday the 13th remake sold for $4,538.22.
