Sky Cinema grabs a lot of the bigger blockbusters, but often promotes smaller movies that have gained a nice little following, so we’re keeping track of all the new films that are hitting the service in the coming month, and we’re secretly pleased to see a lot of Christmas offerings coming in November along with a few Halloween-y stragglers – and one that sits on the fence of both seasons!
As always, quite a few of the films in the lineup are also coming to NOW TV, but here’s an official look at what’s coming to Sky Cinema in November…
Anna and the Apocalypse – November 1st
The beloved cult horror hit comes to Sky Cinema this month, as sixth-form student Anna has to battle a hoard of zombies during the Christmas season. Did we mention this is also a musical? Seek it out!
The Nutcracker and the Four Realms – November 8th
Mackenzie Foy stars as Clara in this live-action Disney effort, where she must track down a key to the mysteriously locked, egg-shaped box her late mother left her. Dame Helen Mirren also appears.
Miss Bala – November 9th
Gina Rodriguez is Gloria, a Mexican beauty-pageant contestant who phones the cops when her mate is kidnapped from a nightclub, but her situation just gets worse from there.
Little Monsters – November 15th
A musician, a teacher and a celebrity team up deal with an outbreak of zombies at an amusement park. That team? Lupita Nyong’o, Alexander England and Josh Gad. Well worth a watch.
Captain Marvel – November 22nd
Pilot Carol Danvers gets a blast from the Tesseract and loses her memory in this MCU prequel that sets up the events of Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Dumbo – November 29th
Another live-action Disney project, re-jigged by Tim Burton, and starring Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton and Danny Devito. And an elephant with very big ears.
From 2nd November to 31st December, Sky Cinema’s Christmas collection will boast some yuletide classics, including The Grinch, Die Hard, Arthur Christmas, It’s a Wonderful Life, The Muppet Christmas Carol, The Polar Express, Trading Places and Sleepless in Seattle.
