[Trailer] Blumhouse Turns the Classic TV Series 'Fantasy Island' into a Full Blown Horror Movie

Be careful what you fantasize about.

Blumhouse & Sony are taking us back to Fantasy Island on February 14, 2020 for a bold new vision of the late ’70s-early ’80s TV series, reimagined as a murder-mystery horror film.

Naturally, fantasies become nightmares in Blumhouse’s take on the mysterious island, which forces the guests to live out twisted versions of their deepest, darkest desires.

But the reason they’re there may be even more sinister than that…

This looks like one of those fun, ’90s style horror movies that’s probably going to make Blumhouse a ton of money. We don’t talk enough about how smart Blumhouse has gotten with their release dates, which are frequently tied to holidays. Young couples, in particular, are likely to eat this up on Valentine’s weekend, whether they’ve heard of the TV series or not.

Check out the official trailer below.

In Fantasy Island:

The Enigmatic Mr. Roarke (played by Michael Peña) makes the secret dreams of his lucky guests come true at a luxurious but remote tropical resort. But when the fantasies turn into nightmares, the guests have to solve the island’s mystery in order to escape with their lives.

Lucy Hale (Truth or Dare) also stars with Michael Rooker, Charlotte McKinneyParisa Fitz-Henley and Austin Stowell.

Truth or Dare’s Jeff Wadlow directed a script written by Wadlow, Chris Roach and Jillian Jacobs.
