British Board of Film Classification Lists 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' as the Title of Next Year's Film

It had been recently rumored that the title of Jason Reitman‘s sequel to the original Ghostbusters would be Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and that seems to have been confirmed.

Trailer Track brings us the word that the film’s 2 minute, 28 second trailer has been rated by the BBFC this week, and the title attached to the film is indeed Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

This means that the film’s trailer is coming *soon* (we don’t know exactly when at this time) and that Ghostbusters: Afterlife is the official title…over in the UK, at least. As for whether or not that will also be the film’s title for its release here in the States, we’re doing some digging and we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we hear anything concrete. Stay tuned!

The new film centers on a family that moves back home to a small town where they learn more about who they are.

The film’s confirmed cast includes returning stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts, along with Paul Rudd, Finn WolfhardMckenna GraceCarrie CoonOliver CooperCeleste O’Connor and Logan Kim.

Ghostbusters will return to theaters on July 10, 2020.
